White isn't absolutely necessary, but your colors will show better if you wear white.
You will see smiling faces along the course whose main goal is to douse you in colorful powder to ensure that you look like you ran through a colorful rainbow by the time you cross the finish line.
The color does mostly wash out after the event. As with anything dirty, the sooner you wash it the better. We suggest wearing items that you wouldn't mind getting colorful. If you would like to preserve the color in your running shirt, spray it with vinegar and iron it. If you wash your shirt...the color will eventually come out.
The color powder used for this event is non-toxic and free of heavy metals. The bright colors are cornstartch and FD&C dyes. As with any substance, you will want to keep it out of yor eyes and are color throwers will aim low as you pass by. Participants may wish to wear glasses or goggles for their eyes and use a bandana or dust mask for there mouths.
We will have some blow driers available at the finish line. With a good dusting off, you won't be 100% clean but you should be good for the drive home.

Photographers are totally fine shooting from a medium distance (25-30 feet). If you want to get shots right in the midst of the color, then we recommend covering cameras/ phones with plastic wrap.
The walk/run will not be a timed event, However, we will have a time station at the finishline for those interested in knowing their time.
